AL MARMOUM SIXTH CAMEL AUCTION FOR FATAMEEN

BATCH “A “

The Dubai Camel Racing Club (DCRC) under the efficient management of Ali Saeed Bin Saroud, Chief Executive Officer, has successfully organized and conducted the sixth camel auction for race camels “Batch A” titled “Al Marmoum Sixth Camel Auction for Fatameen (camels aged 9 months and below) during the period 15-17 November 2018,and designated for the tribesmen’s reproduction camels.

The auction included more than 258 lots of camels of both “Abkar” (female) and “Jeadan” (male) variety from some of the UAE’s most prized race track winners including the pioneer progeny of “Al Shababi Al Asifa, “ Al Selemani Al Asifa”  and others with strong pedigree and of high quality breeds..

The auction has proved a big success in quality and quantities levels with more the 200 camels being sold off.

The three-day events featured aggressive bidding from prominent camel owners and individuals resulted in an increased total sale fund of over AED 03,745,000.

THE EVENTS

The inaugural day witnessed two prominent pedigrees offered their production when the son of  “MaYahab Walad AlHuda”  from the mother “ Sudania “was auctioned for a price of Dh 65,000, paid by Kasib Salim Al Musafir.

Khatir Salim Al Amri paid Dh 65,000 for a daughter descends from “ Muteb Al Sageer” and the mother “ Al Haseena”.

Al Shababi Al Asifa’s progeny, dominated the auction, and the prominent bidder Kasib Salim Al Musafri, who topped the bidders’ list during the three days activities, paid the higher price on day three when he auctioned the son of  “Al Shababi Al Asifa “ and from the mother “ Ekhtiyar “  for Dh330,000.

The second highest bid went to another female camel, a daughter of “ Mashghal Mukhtabar Sewahan “  and from the mother “ Gaheema “ who was auctioned for a price of Dh220, 000, paid by the fierce and competitive bidder Kasib Salim Al Musafri.

The auction did witness a huge attendance and succeeded in attracting a large number of bidder from the UAE and from the GCC countries, fans and tourists as well.

AIM...

The auction’s objective is to highlight the historical, social, cultural and economic importance of camels in the Arab world and to encourage more owners to get involved in the heritage sport.

Another aim is to help with cultural preservation and sustainability of the camel and also to improve the original feature of purebred camels.
