TRADITIONAL ... AL MARMOUM HERITAGE VILLAGE 2019

Al Marmoum Heritage Village (MHV) is one of the best cultural and traditional attractions during the Al Marmoum Camel Heritage Festival’s activities; it is a different style and performance of the UAE heritage, it provides a glimpse into Dubai’s traditional culture and lifestyle. Some of the visitors and tourists come here to watch the camel races, while others are attracted by the opportunity to have a great time with their families and immerse themselves in the world of Arabic traditions, they will be able to enjoy live performances of musicians and dancers, take part in the creation of sand sculptures, explore an exhibition of Dubai Police’s supercars, learn more about the cultural traditions of the Emirates, also there is an entire program of art and handicraft for children. The MHV is a living exhibit of the arts and crafts of Dubai that showcases the many traditional cottage industries that are something completely overlooked by tourists.

The MHV focuses on presenting a comprehensive overview of the UAE culture and heritage through an overabundance of events, activities, traditional shows, and old fashioned shopping experience. The MHV in its previous versions, the popular and folk destination did succeed in attracting a multinational crowd with families from different cultures flocking to the Village to get a very close-to-real experience of old UAE, with more than 65 stores, 10 restaurants, and several kiosks. This season 2019, the MHV has exposed its visitors with a lofty cultural experience; brought more cultural programmes, shows, and activities this year to better the experience for our visitors. This included creating new zones such as a camel-riding zone, Old Marine Life Zone, a Bedouin Life Zone, and many others, The MHV organized various folklore dances from different parts of the world, in addition to newly developed shows celebrating the Year of Tolerance in UAE, also there were many new features this year included a specially produced laser and lights show, in addition to a first-ever competition titled   “ The most beautiful heritage costume  for Children”  this competition was opened to all children between the ages of 4 and 10 years old, with fantastic prizes for winners.

Abdullah Ahmed Faraj Al Falasi, Director of Marketing, Events and Relationships Department and Manager of Al Marmoum Heritage Village, commented that, “In spite of the fact that we were launching this competition for the first time in the sidelines of Al Marmoum Heritage Festival Final, but we discovered that the registration for participation has seen unbelievable and lured many children from different countries, so we are so optimistic that the competition gained a great success”.

The MHV activities attracted a huge crowd and also the numbers of tourists who visited the festival this year has increased “considerably” compared to the previous years, thanks to the comprehensive facilities and utilities been prepared by the indefatigable organizing committee headed by Abdullah Al Falasi. Under the supervision of Al Falasi, the MHV Manager, the final day witnessed the mega draw of the three luxury cars, been offered by the organizing committee. The three cars’ keys were handed to the winners.
